Installing Oracle r12: The Beginning
Many of my potential clients are looking for consultants that have experience implementing Oracle r12, and therefore I decided to install Oracle r12 to learn all of its new features. I will have to buy a PC, download Oracle and Windows Server 2003, and install them both. Then, who knows what I will need to learn to start using Oracle r12. This task is daunting, but I know I will learn a lot!
I will be using this website as my guide.
Here is the list of things that I have downloaded and stored on an external drive. I suggest using a download manager; I am using DownThemAll!. Oracle is 39 files, totaling around 40 GB
- Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition with SP2 (32-BIT)
- Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package
- Cygwin (Linux Like Environment)
- Oracle r12
- Oracle Download Site
- Select E-Business Suite for Microsoft Windows 32-bit
- Choose Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Release 12.1.1 Media Pack for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
- Download All Files
Off to buy a computer! To Be Continued…
